Welcome to Home Helpers and Direct Link of Boulder County

Hello, our names are West and Stacy Roybal and we are the owners and managers of Home Helpers and Direct Link of Boulder County. With a history of strong family roots and a love for Colorado we opened the local Home Helpers office in 2008, providing Senior Care, Help for new Moms and Working Parents, Recuperative Care and/or Continuing Care services to the communites of Boulder, Lyons, Niwot, Louisville, Lafayette, Longmont, Erie and others throughout Boulder County.

Both of us were blessed growing up in close families with our grandparents playing an important role in our lives. The values, beliefs and enrichment we gained from our families was what started us on the path to serving people today. We have seen firsthand the face of Alzheimer’s, and Cancer with our family. We watched over the past years as our parents struggled with the issues that come with taking care of loved ones. It is our commitment to help those families who find themselves in our old shoes throughout Boulder County.
Our family-operated business has a national network of support with the primary goal of ensuring that you—or your loved ones—receive excellent care. With a background in Customer Relations and Marketing and with extensive training by Home Helpers plus years of family caregiving, rest assured you and your loved ones will receive excellent care and companionship with Home Helpers.  We believe in caring for clients as if we were caring for members of our own family. Our caregivers are carefully chosen to meet the specific needs of our clients. They each undergo extensive background checks and are insured and bonded by Home Helpers of Boulder County.

As a Colorado native not only are we passionate about serving clients, but we are also passionate about serving the wonderful communities in Boulder County and our state. We are an active member of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce, Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Senior Advisors, and Boulder County Aging Services. We work closely with the other Home Helpers offices throughout the Denver metro area and with our colleagues in the industry to provide the most knowledgeable and comprehensive services possible. We truly enjoy working with people.

Direct Link of Boulder County Introduces New Automated Medication Dispensers - Friday, August 06, 2010

Direct Link of Boulder County has just announced it will now be offering automated medication dispensers in addition to its line of personal emergency response systems.

According to the Alliance for Health Reform, approximately 20 percent of seniors are using about 50 prescriptions each year. Keeping up with multiple medications can be a challenge, especially when certain medications need to be taken at specific times during the day. Direct Link’s medication dispensers can help simplify medication management, thereby alleviating stress and maximizing the client’s independence.

The new units utilize user-friendly microchip technology to dispense multiple medications at preset times. Set by a digital alarm clock, the dispenser can be loaded with up to 28 doses of medication. It is then closed under lock and key, not simply a latch. When the dose is ready, the alarm sounds and a red light flashes. If the dose is not taken, the Care Center will call to remind the client.

“With today’s longer life expectancies and scientific breakthroughs, doctors are simultaneously prescribing several medications, many of which are very time sensitive,” said West E. Roybal, owner of Direct Link of Boulder County “These medication dispensers alert our clients to take the proper medication at the appropriate times throughout the day, thereby alleviating much of the stress associated with managing multiple medications.

The unit is compatible with digital cable/VoIP phone service and is A/C operated with a 72-hour battery backup in the event of travel or power failures.

“At Direct Link, it is our mission to ensure our clients’ safety and independence in the place they call home,” said Roybal “These units can help simplify medication management and provide peace of mind not only for our clients, but their families as well.”

Direct Link is affiliated with Home Helpers of Boulder County part of the nation’s leading senior care franchise specializing in non-medical and personal care and companionship for seniors, new mothers, those recovering from illness or injury and individuals facing lifelong challenges.  Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with clients individually to tailor flexible care plans to meet their specific needs and budgets. Services offered include companionship, bathing, meal preparation, dressing assistance, medication reminders, local transportation and light housekeeping.
