Hello, my name is Katie DeRosia, owner of Home Helpers of Memphis and the Midsouth. A native Memphian, I realize that life does not always take the path you expect. Whether you are an expectant mother on bed rest, a parent caring for a child with lifelong challenges, an adult child trying to help a parent remain independent, or yourself facing illness or injury, we're here to help. As the mom of an exuberant 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter, supporting families is not just a job, but a ministry I feel blessed to undertake.

At Home Helpers we strive to provide the same kind of caring help that loving family members provide. Our goal is to take over the impersonal tasks and needs so that families can enjoy more quality time together, without the "To Do's." The services we offer are tailored to your personal needs, no matter how minimal or extensive they may be. And best of all, our caregivers are mature and trustworthy workers who truly have caring "hearts," and we strive to match their talents and personalities with the needs of our clients.

I'm proud to say that Home Helpers is unique in the field of home care agencies. My personal family is my yard stick - I'll never hire a caregiver who I would not trust in my own grandmother's home. In addition, I go above and beyond when screening caregiver applicants by running social security number and name-based background checks in addition to fingerprint comparison to the TBI and FBI nationwide databases. I also drug test all caregivers prior to hiring and at random during employment, and also search the elder abuse, sex offender, and meth user registries. I leave no stone unturned so that families can rest easy knowing that their Home Helpers caregiver has only the family's interests at heart.

We Meet All Needs, Big and Small: No Four-Hour Minimum for Service Visits.
We understand that families may not always need - or be able to afford - services longer than four hours a day. When you need a one-hour visit to help with a bath or intermittent help with transportation to medical appointments, rest assured that we will say "Yes" when other providers say "No."

We Are a Drug Free Workplace.
All caregivers undergo regular drug testing in addition to rigorous, nation-wide background, fingerprint, and motor vehicle history screenings.

Our client-caregiver matching process ensures peace of mind and "the right fit" for clients and their families. A caregiver is NEVER sent to a client's home without first being personally introduced to the family.

You Never Pay More than You Should.
Caregivers record the time they spend at a client's home using a telephony clock in/clock out system. Because the caregiver must use the client's telephone to check in successfully,  you never pay extra for time not worked. Unlike other providers, we bill to the minute, not for a designated block of time that a caregiver may - or may not - actually be providing care.
